Transformation #1 – Twin Cities Pagan Healers Meetup Group

It was just one of those things, the idea hit me and I realized it was time for the Pagans to have their own meet-up group, so on August 17th I founded the new group.

My Third Thursday Reiki Shares are posted through this group, and we will also have other fun and informative events posted as well.

Transformation #2 – Private Reiki Sessions Through Eye of Horus beginning Sunday October 24th

I love my Reiki Room at my home for teaching Reiki and Hosting Reiki Shares, but when it comes to providing services by the hour, it’s a bit out of the way for most people. Now that Eye of Horus is moving to a bigger better space, there is a new room all ready to provide private Reiki sessions. I will be offering 30 minute or 60 minute sessions there. The room is lovely, and I did the painting myself!

Transformation #3 – Weekly Faery Readings at Eye of Horus

I do my Faery Oracle readings now on every Wednesday night, rather than every other. It gives me a good metaphysical break in the middle of the work week. Those will continue in the new space as well, and I’m pretty excited about it all!

On a more personal note, we got a new roof to our house, but the city still hasn’t paved our road yet. So it’s dirt roads for the Reiki Share for a while yet. I also had hoped to get another Reiki I class together, but with all that is happening, it’s just a bit much for me right now. Even with a week off, I feel a bit intimidated by all the responsibilities I’ve taken on in addition to working a full-time job.

Once I get settled into my new schedule, and the Meetup Group gets a little bit more established, then I think things will calm down to something a bit more like a routine and my life will just run itself! Now if I can just get the cats to do the dishes for me, everything will be perfect.

When it comes to making choices for myself, however, I also try to employ at least a little common sense and logic. But if something looks good but feels bad…that’s when intuition trumps logic. There have been times when I tried to make the intelligent decision and lay aside my doubts and fears, only to discover that my doubts and fears were correct. Intuition can warn you off of making horrible mistakes. A term that I’ve heard of in regards to business decisions is you “swallow the deal” and if it makes you feel queezy, it’s best to pass this one by.

Sometimes I run into people who make all their decisions with their intuition, and appear to have made some foolish choices. I find it best to weigh the consequences when my first instict says to go for it. There have been times when I just see what I want to see, or my ego gets involved and I confuse that for intuition. I try to get a second opinion from a trusted friend and intuitive in these cases now. All of us have our blinders on sometimes, even Reiki Masters, and knowing when to ask for help comes in very handy. Ultimately, the TANSTAAFL principle really does apply in most situations.

There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch

I do believe that the Universe wants what’s best for us, and our narrow viewpoints can limit what is possible. At the same time, I don’t trust everything that is written on the internet, especially when it involves some kind of monetary investments or business decisions. As an artist, I was often approached by licensors to use my artwork in manufacturing different products. In one instance, I signed a contract that I regretted later. My friend gave me a reading and warned me against it, and I ignored her advice to my peril.

The truth is that while the Universe wants what’s best for you, many people out there do not. They may say that they love you and stroke your ego. It feels good to hear those things, and it’s easy to get caught up in a bad situation as a result. I’m learning as I go in this life, as we all are.

I have given readings to people who have already made up their minds about something, and they ignore or argue with the advice that I have to offer. Having done the same myself, I have compassion for them, and I do my best to impart the information and let them know how the situation appears on an energy level. Some people get readings to validate their decisions, and when the reading disagrees with that, they really don’t want to hear it. 

Emotions are often confused with intuition, and it’s taken a lot of practice and meditation on my part to differentiate between the two. One thing that I’ve learned about my intuition is that it operates outside of my emotions. A strong intuition tends to give me goosebumps, while a strong emotion can overwhelm my common sense.  It’s a balancing act, and I use logic and intellect to detect fraud and deceit. They are very handy for that.

Recently I had my intuition and intellect tested in regards to a new healing modality someone introduced in my Reiki Share. I approached it with an open mind, though ultimately I didn’t care for the results. I developed a mild headache after receiving the treatment and didn’t feel the energy that I normally do during my Reiki Shares. I later did some research on the Internet and was not able to confirm the claims that were proposed as to the effectiveness and science behind the modality.

All practitioners of complimentary therapies like Reiki have to be well educated in their modality, and have the documentation to back up any claims. Intuition does not count as documentation. Many of these modalities use scientific lingo in order to promote expensive products, and we must be very wary when dealing with this. We all end up looking like Flaky New Agers when we buy into what is essentially a marketing gimmick. High cost for classes, retreats and products really should be a big red flag for us. We need to use all of our brains, not just the creative intuitive side, in testing for the  truth.

Having Reiki with many pairs of hands is a wonderful experience, and we learn from each other. Hands on practice for those new to Reiki, or to those who haven’t yet developed a regular self-practice is something that I’m committed to providing as a Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner.

The Reiki Share begins at around 7:00, and I one Reiki table in my Reiki room where up to 6 people (and 3 cats) can gather around and give Reiki.

Our only rule is that in order to receive Reiki at no cost, you have to give Reiki as well. It’s all about sharing the gift of Reiki with one another. If you are a Reiki practitioner who wants to introduce a friend to Reiki, or if you are not a Reiki practitioner and would like to try Reiki for the first time, we will not turn you away! The purpose of the Reiki I class is to learn to sense Ki, cultivate Ki and use this knowledge to ground and heal the self and others. The Reiki I Shoden student will get his/her first experience with working with the system of Reiki. This is a full day workshop, with ample time for practice to gain a deep understanding of how this system works. Each student will both give and receive a full reiki treatment as part of the course. The focus is on personal development and spirituality, with an emphasis on the traditional Japanese teachings. My aim as your teacher is to connect all practitioners with Reiki’s true spiritual depth.

Four elements of the system of Reiki will be taught to you including receiving the attunement or reiju, an energy blessing that clear the body’s energy channels. Over the course of the day the body will begin to adjust to this energy. For some students this is experienced as a connection to a new world as perceptions change, renewing balance and harmony.

Each student receives a manual and certificate as a Reiki First Degree practitioner, and ongoing support through my monthly Reiki Shares.
