Welcome to the January edition of our newsletter! I awoke to thick snowflakes falling covering up the steps and sidewalk my husband uncovered just yesterday. Winter in Minnesota is extra snowy this year and there are at least two more months of snow to come. February and March are the snowiest months, and we had the snowiest December on record.

Reiki Sessions are offered every Sunday in Minneapolis at Eye of Horus Metaphysical at my Sunday Reiki Clinic. You can book your appointment by calling 612-872-1292, or if your just curious stop in between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sundays. The door is always open when I’m not in a session, and I’m always glad to talk with people about Reiki.

The store is located at 3012 Lyndale Ave. S. in the uptown area of Minneapolis, just off of Lake Street. It’s a great neighborhood with fun shopping and wonderful restaurants as well. Come in and start off your week with Reiki!

What the heck is a Faerie Reading and what is it doing on a Reiki website? As a Reiki practitioner, I’m sensitive to spiritual energies of all kinds. As an artist I’ve been drawn to spiritual subjects such as Nature Spirits, and they’ve been drawn to me as well.

Reiki is a natural system, and all things in nature work beautifully together, including the Natural helpers that are known as Faerie. My connection with faerie is detailed somewhat on my page about Faerie Readings. You can get a reading yourself with me on Wednesday nights at Eye of Horus, just call 612-872-1292 to make an appointment.

Part of my spiritual path is working with the Faery, so I’m delighted to tell you that I will be taking Module I of the Path of the Faery Seer with Orion Foxwood this February! This is a two day intensive workshop and there is still space available.

Faery Seership involves a collection of lore, customs, techniques and prohibitions, which are influenced by the Celtic and pre Celtic tribes of Europe. It focuses on the living inner common wealth of the sacred land in the other world. The workshop will be held February 26th & 27th, 2011 (Saturday & Sunday) at Eye of Horus Metaphysical in Minneapolis (of course!).

On August 17th, 2010, I founded the Twin Cities Pagan Healers Meetup Group. So here’s the deal…Pagans are healers.

I don’t know about you, but every group I’ve ever circled with whether it’s Wiccan, Druidic, Eclectic Pagan, or some variation thereof does some kind of healing ritual at some time. And in amongst the members are massage therapists, nurses, Reiki Masters, Tai Chi practitioners, herbalists, counselors, psychologists, tarot readers…all healers. Living in Paganistan myself and working as both a Reiki Master and Intuitive Reader, plus having my day job, it seemed to me there was a need that wasn’t being addressed by current meetup groups locally.

So the Twin Cities Pagan Healers Meetup Group began. While I may be the organizer, I want all the members to be involved and have a share in providing meetups for our community. Joining the Meet-up Group is easy, just go the website and join today!

Reiki Newsletter – Winter Solstice 2010

As I look at my To Do List this winter’s night I noticed that I still have the November Newsletter to write. OK, so I’m a little behind in my newsletter updates. It’s not that I haven’t been busy doing Reiki stuff, it’s quite the opposite. So here I am ready to get everyone caught up on the shortest day of the year, or the longest night, whichever you prefer.

The big news is that I have a Regular Reiki Gig at Eye of Horus Metaphysical in uptown! They moved to a bigger and better location, and I helped with painting the place and even some of the unpacking as well. I am now available for regular Reiki sessions every Sunday from 11a.m.-3 p.m., so be sure to call and make an appointment.

In other news, the Twin Cities Pagan Healers Meet-up group is off to a good start! We’ve had a few Reiki Shares happen, and we are planning on a wider variety of meet-ups in the coming year. We are up to 30 members, and are actively seeking more, so if you haven’t joined yet please do so! All people on earth honoring paths and healing practitioners are welcome to become members of the meet-up and join in on the fun.

With so much going on, plus all the friends and family we all see this time of year, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the hustle and bustle. Throw in a few feet of snow and it’s a regular trial by ice just to get through each week. For myself, I knew this was coming so I decided to take a few days off from my day job to regroup. I plan on some much needed alone time with books, candles, and cats. And maybe even a few extra turns on my Reiki Table just to keep the energy flowing well. It’s all about taking some time out to love yourself, and give to yourself the time you need to really appreciate the spirit of the season.

It’s a beautiful day in May here at the Reiki Artist Studio! I’m just so excited to finally be playing in the dirt, gardening makes me so happy. On average, the last chance of frost here in Minnesota is May 21st, but not this year. It’s long past and the forecast calls for lows in the 40′s overnight. Just another sign of climate change happening in the real world.

Change is happening here as well, read on for the Reiki Artist Happenings including Reiki Shares, Reiki I Workshop, and Faerie Readings at the Eye of Horus Psychic Faire. I’ve also expanded the website just a titch, so you can scroll to the bottom to learn more about that.

Reiki Artist Happenings for May are:

Reiki Share 1st & 3rd Thursdays

Thursday May 6th from 7-9 p.m.
Thursday May 20th from 7-9 p.m.

Having Reiki with many pairs of hands is a wonderful experience, and we learn from each other. Hands on practice for those new to Reiki, or to those who haven’t yet developed a regular self-practice is something that I’m committed to providing as a Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner.

The Reiki Share begins at around 7:00, and I one Reiki table in my Reiki room where up to 6 people (and 3 cats) can gather around and give Reiki.

Our only rule is that in order to receive Reiki at no cost, you have to give Reiki as well. It’s all about sharing the gift of Reiki with one another. If you are a Reiki practitioner who wants to introduce a friend to Reiki, or if you are not a Reiki practitioner and would like to try Reiki for the first time, we will not turn you away! I’m happy to help you learn a little bit more about how energy works and how you can use your hands to heal yourself and others.

Reiki I Workshop

Sunday May 23rd, 2010 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The purpose of the Reiki I class is to learn to sense Ki, cultivate Ki and use this knowledge to ground and heal the self and others. The Reiki I Shoden student will get his/her first experience with working with the system of Reiki. This is a full day workshop, with ample time for practice to gain a deep understanding of how this system works. Each student will both give and receive a full reiki treatment as part of the course. The focus is on personal development and spirituality, with an emphasis on the traditional Japanese teachings. My aim as your teacher is to connect all practitioners with Reiki’s true spiritual depth.

Four elements of the system of Reiki will be taught to you including receiving the attunement or reiju, an energy blessing that clear the body’s energy channels. Over the course of the day the body will begin to adjust to this energy. For some students this is experienced as a connection to a new world as perceptions change, renewing balance and harmony.

Each student receives a manual and certificate as a Reiki First Degree practitioner, and ongoing support through my monthly Reiki Shares.

There’s LOTS of news for September here at the Reiki Artist Studio. The first thing that I want to mention, is that I am now officially an assistant organizer for The Twin Cities Energy Healers & Energy Workers meet-up group! I’m super excited to be involved in this active and growing group. We have a BIG event coming up, offering healing services to suport the Sacred Paths Center:

Welcome to the first online edition of the Reiki Artist Newsletter! It’s August and I’m enjoying playing with the new design here at ReikiArtist.com. I think we have the basics installed, and now it’s just a matter of getting all the pages completed and online.

One of the Super Cool new features is the photo at the top. There are five images, and each one is featuring one of the Reiki precepts. They change randomly whenever a page loads. These are all my own photos of my gardens surrounding my home and Reiki Artist Studio.

In this month’s newsletter we have our article on clearing a room of negative energy, a shameless plug for the Reiki Artist Store, my new and improved Reiki Studio hours, and we’ll finish off with a very up-beat affirmation. Let’s get started shall we?

Clearing a Room of Negative Energy

Tonight I was feeling all the weight of the world on my shoulders, so I decided to clear my Reiki Studio of any negative thoughts that I may have carried in with me. Right now Music, and therefore sound, has played an important part of my life. I’ve been listening to more of my old favorites around the house and at work to get through the daily grind. An of course there is my ongoing autoharp classes and consistent practicing.

So using sound to clear the space seemed like the perfect choice for me right now. It’s brought me so much joy and contentment, that I knew that turning to musical vibrations before I sat down to do my meditation and self-reiki would be the key to my happiness tonight.

Years ago, I obtained a lovely little chime bell that I hit with a little wooden mallet. This was just what I needed to clear the air and make room for more Good Vibrations.

I went to the East, and I held the chime up, rang it and said “all negative energies, unhappy thoughts are now cleared away. I moved around the room counterclockwise stopping in each direction, North, West, South, and then East and finally turning towards center. By now my chime was ringing and sustaining the clear pure note, and the vibrations lifted the mood in the room.

Everything felt lighter and brighter, so I continued on my mission and lit some incense and some candles, and put a little Enya on the stereo. It is now a tranquil place where I did some self-reiki and cat snuggling to boot. Purring raises the energy vibrations in a space quite nicely as well, so it’s a good thing I have cats around.
