Bridge Collapse in Minneapolis

Minneapolis Bridge Collapse

I live and work in Minneapolis, and last night I was safe in my home when the Bridge over the Mississippi went crashing down. Following the news, I tried to get in touch with my husband, but Cel phone coverage was not available due to overuse. I did get a hold of him later on so I knew that he was OK.

I’m grateful that nobody I know was involved in this devastating tragedy. According to the Officials there are 4 Dead, 79 Hurt, Up To 30 Still Missing. Behind the wheel, Dennis Winegar fought to keep their Houston family’s Chrysler 300M under control. Here’s his first-hand account:

“I slammed on my brakes and saw something in front of me disappear and then my car pointed straight down and we fell.” He estimated they dropped about 50 feet, landing on a smaller car below them.

Other drivers were getting out of their cars and trying to help people off the bridge.

“Angels is what I call them,” Jamie Winegar said.

So now I would like to ask all of you who read this blog regularly to send your Reiki or other healing energy to Minneapolis and the Mississippi river. With so many still missing, my heart goes out to the families, it’s terrible not knowing.

  1. I am so happy to come across your site. I am grateful to see this post. Thank you for prompting us to send reiki to those affected by this tragic event.

Oftentimes, when I hear or witness a tragic event as well as hear or see ground-air ambulances/police cars/fire trucks go whizzing by, I send reiki to all of those involved. However, there are times, I get in my own way with my own stuff and forget to sit down and acknowledge those who need assistance.

Honestly, coming across this reiki filled post today touched me. In fact, it humbled me. I was lead to sit down and contribute my share of reiki to you, your family and your fellow residents as well as those living elsewhere who are close to those involved in this horrific event.

From now on, I will consider myself a regular reader of your site (and add your link to my site). Thank you for your service on the internet.

  2. Thanks for your kind comments Ajen, it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day and miss the opportunity to share Reiki every day. That’s part of why I do this blog, to keep myself inspired and on track. If I inspire others as well then that’s just a bonus!

    Bright Blessings,
    Beth
