Just when I thought it was safe to go into Eye of Horus again, my sister shows me the newest oracle deck by Brian and Wendy Froud. I had every confidence in myself that since I already possess the Faeries’ Oracle by Brian Froud that I would not be tempted to buy the new one. Of course, I went in on a pay day. So it happened…I saw it on the shelf and I picked up the Demo. As soon as I saw the cards I knew that it would be coming home with me. OK, you probably knew it too, but in my own defense, I REALLY thought that I wouldn’t need a second Faerie oracle. Turns out I was wrong and all the Faeries around the house are very happy about that.
I tucked my purchase, along with a nice little bag to keep the cards in, under my arm and went upstairs to join the Reiki Clinic. We had a really good time, and I got my Chakra’s pulled and straightened, which I highly recommend. It’s always a wonderful time. I got to be in the Present Moment, share Reiki with others, and then go home to open my new deck and book. I immediately gave myself a reading, sans book, so I could connect with the cards myself. I introduced them to my cats Cleo and Caruso, and when I was done with the readings I picked up the book. I read it cover to cover.
I’m taking Wendy Froud’s advice and will pick a card each morning and write my thoughts about it in my Book of Shadows. The connection is really strong already, this deck is moving into my heart even as my own heart moves deeper into Faerie. Spring came early in Minnesota, and with it comes the Fae. I really shouldn’t be surprised when these little coincidences happen. It’s part of being a Reiki Master and staying in the flow.
When people asked me how I was last night I answered Crazy Good. So much is going on right now in my life; my artistic path, my spiritual path, my career path; are all on a roll right now. Part of that is taking the time in the mornings to center on what really matters, what is at the heart of learning for this day.
