March 9th was my first anniversary of becoming a Reiki person, and as I look back on the past year I’m amazed at the influence Reiki has been on my life, and on those that I love. In the beginning, there was so much to learn, so I devoured book after book, article after article, and was hungry for knowledge about this wonderful healing path. Through daily practice, I began to find my center more easily, and I became aware of energy imbalances around me. Sometimes they were subtle, sometimes more obvious and I had to make some changes in my life.
Those changes are still happening, in large and small ways. I was so eager to begin a professional Reiki Practice in the beginning, and it was just what I needed to make me take the leap and create a place in my home devoted to Reiki. While things didn’t always work the way I imagined, many new experiences and new people brought me unforseen blessings. My first paying client was a professional psychic and she was able to describe my Reiki Guide to me perfectly. I had the opportunity to give Reiki to my dear friend Susan who has been battling Stage Four cancer, and over the past year I saw her become stronger and more resilient, and the cancer is now in remission.
I also saw my creativity come to life in my little Reiki Artist Store, creating designs that honor my Reiki path by providing clothing and tools like pillows and journals to other Reiki Masters and Practitioners. Life has presented me with many challenges, and having a regular practice helped me to find balance and stay calm in the middle of crisis situations. Sure I still cry once in a while, and I feel overwhelmed and confused sometimes. But when those moments come, I know they will pass and when I give myself Reiki they pass more quickly.
Subscriptions to my monthly newsletter–Reiki Artist News–have been growing steadily, and I have managed to send it out for the past several months more or less on time with an article and affirmation every single time. It has helped me stay on track and continue to explore new ways to work with Reiki, and to keep reading those books and articles.
As I look to the future, I need to sit down and think about the coming year and how I will approach it. There may be goals, but I think I’m going to go for creating a collage of what I hope to achieve and let my creativity loose as I do. One thing you can be sure of, this blog will continue to grow along with my Reiki experience. It’s become a touchstone for me, and I love the fact that I can look back on the past year just by going through the archives. Starting the blog was one of the first things I did, and it’s still one of the best. Thanks for stopping by and giving it a read!
